BPS Parents & Friends

A heartfelt thank you to Gillian Marshall and Lara Schendzielorz for their leadership of the BPS Parents & Friends. Their energy, organisation and commitment to building community at our school has made a genuine difference, and we are incredibly grateful for the time and energy they have given.

While Gillian and Lara are very happy to remain involved and continue their association with the group, they are looking to step back from leading it. This provides a wonderful opportunity for other parents to become involved in a leadership capacity and help continue the great work of strengthening connections across our school community.

As a sub-committee of School Council, the Parents & Friends group is not formal or onerous in structure. There are no elections required and none of the formalities of incorporated associations - such as structured agendas or compliance processes. The aim of the group is simple: to plan community-building events and activities with the goal of both fundraising and ‘friend-raising’ - strengthening the connections that make BPS such a special place.

Thank you to those who came along to the initial meeting on Friday 27th February, where some great brainstorming took place around events and activities for the year ahead. P&F meetings will be held in Weeks 3 and 7 of each term at 2.00 pm to coincide with the Open Afternoons. As such, the next meeting will be Friday 13th March at 2.00 pm in the Art Room. Please come along to assist in planning for the Easter Raffle and Japanese Day Canteen offerings. It would be wonderful to see more of our parent community involved so please come along if you are free.
