St. Pat’s at the 2026 Young Archies
Our art studio has been buzzing with creativity! This year, St. Pat’s students have poured their hearts into the 2026 Young Archies Competition, creating stunning portraits of themselves and the people they love most.
This wasn't just about drawing a face; it was about learning the "how" behind the art.
Our students worked tirelessly to master:
Structure: Learning the correct proportions of the human face.
Shading: Using light and dark to create depth and realism.
Painting: Blending colors to capture life-like skin tones.
Storytelling: Adding hidden symbols and personal stories to make each portrait unique.
Watching you translate your love for your family, friends, and yourselves onto the canvas has been a joy. You didn't just learn to paint; you learned to express who you are.
All the best, St. Pat’s! You have worked incredibly hard and done your absolute best. No matter the official results, your talent and dedication make you winners in our eyes.

Amadeus News
Join the SCS Amadeus Artists’ Evolution Ensemble 2026 Applications - still open (closes week 8)

Instrument Update
Thank you to the all parents and students for your patience regarding the distribution and resizing of instruments. Sydney Catholic Schools are currently in the process of distributing instruments and repairs to schools. It is estimated that everything will be finalised within the fortnight.
St Pat's Extension Ensemble
We are pleased to announce that auditions for our Amadeus Extension Performance Band and String Ensembles will take place this Friday 6th March. This ensemble is designed for students who demonstrate strong musical ability, commitment, and enthusiasm for extending their performance skills.
If a student is not present for the audition or is unable to take part on the day, a second audition day will take place on Friday 13th.
Please refer to the Compass notification that went out earlier in the week regarding audition requirements.
SCS Eisteddfod News
Entries for the Sydney Catholic Schools Eisteddfod are now closed.
St Pat's have entered the following acts:
Junior Dance Group (Hip-Hop)
Senior Boys Dance Group (Hip-Hop)
Senior Girls Dance Group (Jazz)
The SCS Eisteddfod for these groups will take place on May 13th this year. A note further detailing this event will be released closer to the date. Please note that this is an inter-school event, as such, no parents will be permitted to attend.
