Always was, Always will be

2021 - Present: Finding Our Heart Collaborative Artwork
We are continuing our Finding Our Heart collaborative artwork, which first began in 2021 after students explored Thomas Mayor’s book 'Finding Our Heart' and the message of the Uluru Statement from the Heart. This project has remained an important visual reminder of student voice, connection and shared commitment to truth-telling and reconciliation.
End of last term, we were fortunate to be supported by alumni Mithil, Max and Jash, as well as Kaia and Nofil from Auburn High, who generously returned as part of their work experience placement to help guide and support the development of the artwork. Their involvement has helped strengthen the sense of continuity between past and present students contributing to this ongoing piece.
Now that we have collected more student names, the space will be open during selected play times for students to help cut out hearts that will be added to the final artwork. These hearts represent each student’s voice and place within our school community. Please listen out for announcements during play times if you would like to take part.
We look forward to seeing this artwork continue to grow as more students contribute to its creation.
