Student Wellbeing

Empathy Day
Last Monday, students and teachers gathered in their vertical groups for Empathy Day. Throughout the day, students engaged in a range of empathy and anti-bullying activities focused on understanding what it means to "stand in someone else's shoes" and how to be an Upstander rather than a Bystander.
We hope your child enjoyed sharing their learning with you at home! If you would like to continue the conversation, here are a few prompting questions you can use:
Prep – Year 3:
- What does it mean to stand in someone else's shoes?
- How can you show empathy to others?
Years 4 – 6:
- What is the difference between an Upstander and a Bystander?
How does showing empathy make a difference in our world?
Also, keep an eye out for our student-chosen Empathy Quotes, which are now on display along the main driveway as you enter the school!
