Book Week 2026

Another friendly reminder that Book Week is coming up, beginning August 24 and we have lots of exciting events planned, including our main event -

 Book Week Dress Up Day and Parade on Wednesday August 26 at 9.15am.

All students in Prep to Year 6 are invited to dress as a favourite book character. This has been a fabulous event in previous years and we can't wait to see what our students and families come up with this year. There are plenty of simple costume ideas you might like to consider and lots of DIY options detailed online.  

Families will be most welcome to join us for the parade. 

The 2026 Book Week theme is Symphony of Stories! The theme celebrates how different characters, stories, and genres come together to create something special, much like an orchestra.  Other events will include a Book Week Character Hunt around the school, a Guess Who? competition matching staff to their favourite books and a Book Title Puzzler for families in next week's newsletter.  Don't miss it!

Ultimately, Book Week is about promoting great literature and to foster a love of reading so this would also be a great time to consider your reading habits at home. Maybe you could make extra time for books and reading in the next few weeks? Perhaps an audio book for the car? Or a visit to your local library? Reading to your child, no matter their age, is great for both learning and bonding. I encourage you to give it a go!
