OLNA Assessments

OLNA (Online Literacy Numeracy Assessments) will occur between Monday 28 July and Wednesday 6 August for applicable students.

Do I need to sit OLNA?

• If you sat an OLNA test and achieved a “Category 1” or “Category 2” result in any of the tests, you need to sit that OLNA test again.
• If you have not sat NAPLAN or OLNA, you will need to sit the OLNA tests.
• If you achieved Band 8 or above in the reading, writing and numeracy assessment areas of Year 9 NAPLAN, you do not need to sit the OLNA.
• If you sat an OLNA test and achieved “Category 3”, you do not need to sit that OLNA test again. 

If you need to sit an OLNA test, a notice will appear in your daily schedule (or calendar) in Compass. 

Please check that you have Compass on your device and that it is properly working. If you do not have Compass on your device, the contact person (above) will be able to tell you if you need to sit a test (and when). 

Sitting an OLNA

An external supervisor will run the tests. The tests are completed on a computer in Room 

B-05 under test conditions. 

Remember to check your daily schedule through Compass. Please arrive to Room B-05 at least five minutes before the scheduled test time.

Phones and mobile devices are not permitted and should be turned off and stored in your bag. Smart devices (such as smart watches) are also not permitted and need to be stored in your bag.

Absent during test

If you miss a test or were absent at your scheduled test time, the supervisor may arrange for you to sit a test at a non-scheduled time. Students in this situation need to speak with the supervisor outside of testing hours or speak to the contact person named below for advice and support.
