Celebrating Cultural Diversity
This month, we celebrate Cultural Diversity Week and Harmony Week with a display of books listed on the Cultural Diversity Database by the National Centre for Australian Children’s Literature Inc (NCACL). See the titles available in our library here. Staff and students are invited to share their culture on our display.
Victorian Premiers’ Reading Challenge
The Challenge is now open until 4th September and Glen Eira College is excited to be participating. It’s great to see so many students
joining the Challenge so quickly! Students can check their Year Level Google Classrooms or pop into the library to find out more. To read the Premier’s letter to parents, view the booklist and for more information, visit https://www.vic.gov.au/premiers-reading-challenge
Homework Help
Tuesday & Wednesdays after school in the library (3.15pm - 4.30pm).
Volunteer tutors available for assistance with most subject areas. The library is open every day after school for students except when staff meetings are scheduled.
New Books
We have some great new books available to borrow, many from the Children’s Book Council of Australia (CBCA) Book of the Year Notables list. Check out some great titles here. Students can reserve items from home by logging into their account on our catalogue. We welcome suggestions from students who can request items in our ‘Suggestion Box’ located at the library desk.
