Chase Basketball Academy

The inaugural Glen Eira College Basketball Academy is off and running and registrations are still being accepted for a term 2 start!  This fantastic extra-curricular sporting program is conducted in the school gym on Tuesday and Thursday mornings and is designed to enhance the basketball skills of athletes across all skill levels.  Student-athletes are assessed and divided into beginner, intermediate and advanced groups ensuring the ongoing enjoyment, progression and development of every individual. The GEC Basketball Academy is open to all GEC students and while the main focus of the sessions will be on improving basketball skills, Chase Coaches will work with athletes to develop fitness, fairness, teamwork, dedication and a strong work ethic. Students are provided with expert tuition by elite Chase Coaches Sam and George, who have experience in both the domestic/community and representative pathways with the McKinnon and Melbourne Tigers clubs.  

Players are currently preparing for the first inter-academy tournament to be conducted at MSAC in term 2 and inter-school events are a feature of the annual program.  Included as part of the Basketball Academy a playing uniform (reversible jersey & shorts) and a drawstring bag.

It’s not too late to join this exciting, rewarding and fun program!
