Together Time With God
This week in the Orange Team Together Time with God sessions we have been reading the book called, "The Garden, The Curtain and The Cross". We read the book and noticed the change in the colours as the story unfolded.
In the book, when God created the world, it was beautiful and colourful. The Garden was wonderful. God was there, Adam and Eve were happy. Then when Sin came because Adam and Even made thumbs down choices, God sent them out of the Garden. The pages were no longer beautiful colours, but drab boring colours, and the people were sad. But then God sent Jesus, and Jesus took away our sin when he died. The curtain tore when Jesus died, so now we can come in and be with God, all because of Jesus. After Jesus died, the bright colours in the illustrations returned, so we have hope and can enjoy being with God once again.
We represented this story and the colours in a group collage. Harlie said, "I don't want to live in the boring world, I want to live in the colourful world with Jesus."
We learnt that books use colour to represent feelings and mood, that they complement the words in the story. We are grateful that the death of Jesus means we can return to the joyful colours once more and we celebrate that Jesus is alive.
