Grade 3/4A:

The Grade 3/4A class have been enjoying their study of 'His Name Was Walter' (2018), written by Emily Rodda. Students have been exploring the characters, setting and events throughout the novel while developing their comprehension, prediction and discussion skills. The intriguing story has encouraged students to think carefully about the clues within the text and share their ideas and interpretations during class discussions.

In Writing, students have been learning about Narrative Writing. They have been exploring the key features of narratives, including characters, setting, plot and descriptive language, while developing their ability to create engaging and imaginative stories.

In Maths, students have been developing their understanding of Multiplication and Division. They have been exploring different strategies to solve problems and applying their mathematical knowledge to a range of activities and challenges.

Grade 5A:

The Grade 5A class have been enjoying their study of 'The Golden Door' (2011), written by Emily Rodda. Students have been enjoying exploring the fantasy world created throughout the novel and developing their comprehension skills as they make predictions, draw inferences and analyse the characters and events. The story has provided many opportunities for thoughtful classroom discussions and sharing ideas.

In Writing, students have been getting creative through both Recount Writing and Narrative Writing. They have been developing their word choice, experimenting with descriptive language and working on strengthening their ideas to make their writing more engaging and effective.

Students have enjoyed having opportunities to share their

creativity while continuing to develop their confidence as writers.

In Maths, students have been focusing on Multiplication and Division. They have been developing their understanding of efficient strategies and applying these skills to solve a variety of mathematical problems and real life situations.

Grade 6A:

The Grade 6A class has been reading a variety of books from the 'Little People, Big Dreams' series. These biographies have provided students with the opportunity to learn about the lives and achievements of a range of inspiring individuals from different backgrounds and fields. Students have been developing their comprehension skills while discussing the challenges, achievements and qualities that have shaped each person's life.

In Writing, students have been learning about Biographies. Building on their previous research experiences, students have been exploring the structure and key features of biographies while developing their ability to gather, organise and present important information about a person's life.

In Maths, students have been learning about Angles and Measurement. They have been developing their understanding of different types of angles and applying their knowledge of measurement through a range of practical and problem solving activities.
