Principal's Update

Each time I complete a newsletter I look over the activiities that we have accomplished over the past month!

Our NAPLAN Results were very good and every family should be proud of their child's achievements. We thank our hard working teachers at all levels who have assisted in your child's learning journey in order to gain these excellent results.

Our Attitudes To School Survey was also very positive.

WMPS welcomes our International Students:

We were thrilled to welcome our first short term International Students to Waverley Meadows! Each new student was matched with a buddy in their class. In addition to learning in the classroom our students also were able to explore the Stephanie Alexander Program and visit the Zoo and enjoy a little day out at Waverley Park with a BBQ sausage sizzle! As our International Students complete their 4-6 week program they each receive a Certificate from our school.

100 Days of Prep:

Our Prep students are being congratulated for not just surviving but thriving in their first 100 days of Prep!

Term 3 Activities (in addition to our classroom learning) so far:

Wellbeing Wednesdays
Cross age clubs
Jump Rope for Heart
Ned's Resilience Ride -Yoyo challenge
School of Rock Performance Wheelers Hill Secondary College
Whole school visit to the ZOO
Visit from local Kinders - library sessions and tree planting
Little Day Out walking excursion including Lawn Bowls for our grade 3-6 at Mulgrave Country Club
House Athletics Carnival
Science Week
and the Book Fair.

Lots more activities still to come!

Looking forward to seeing everyone at our Bunnings BBQ at Notting Hill Bunnings on Saturday 22 August and also supporting our WMPS Trivia night on Saturday 29 August.

We are raising funds to upgrade our SAKG Kitchen/ Canteen / Breakfast Club area - the new windows are already in and look fantastic!
