State Athletics Championships
“It was a really nice day. I saw a lot of competitors that I knew. I was really nervous, so I had to calm myself down, I did this by sitting and taking deep breaths. I competed in the 800m first. I came 6th and I was happy with my run. I overtook about 4 competitors in the last 100m. After that I had few hours until the 1500m final. During that time, I went home to have a rest. I returned to Albert Park for the 1500m, the marshalling time was 4:48pm. You go into a waiting room, and the officials give you a sticker to place on your right hip. We had time to warm up. I started the race in the front pack and stayed there. Everyone started sprinting with one lap to go. Once again, I came 6th, and I was very proud of both my races.” Yuval B (Y5)
Yuval represented himself and CSPS proudly at the State Athletics Championships at Albert Park. This is a fantastic accomplishment and a testament to his dedication, hard work and consistent training. Congratulations, Yuval!
Year 5/6 Sports Gala Day
“It was a fun day. Everything was super-organised. There was lots of examples of sportsmanship. Everyone helped one another if there was confusion about the rules. The game I liked the most was ‘ultimate ball’ as it was good game.” Benji S (Y5)
“It was a great day. Everyone played fairly and was friendly. Everyone was encouraged to have a go. I like how the teams were randomly mixed. The umpires were great. I had a fun time, playing with my friends and with others that I usually don’t play with. My favourite game was rounders.” Eadie (Y5)
“It was an entertaining day. It was good to play against a variety of kids that you didn’t know their skill level. I remembered some of the kids from other schools from the Lightning Premierships. Even though the day was just for fun it was still competitive. My favourite game on the day was kickball.” Jacob (Y5)
“In general, everyone was supportive and friendly. My favourite game was continuous cricket because if you went out without batting much you had a second chance. It was a great day of sport.” Danya (Y5)
