OASIS 3BH & 3R

Students will differentiate between rocks and minerals and explain that rocks are made up of one or more minerals. They will observe and classify different types of rocks based on their physical characteristics such as colour, texture, and grain size. 

DigiTech 3MP & 3D - Cam Taylor 

Students will explore a range of digital systems and how they use peripheral devices for different purposes, and they will learn ways to transmit different types of data between users and devices. Students will look at different types of data and how the same data can be represented in different ways. 

Art – Lauren Nankervis 

In Term 3, Year 3 students will use materials to express their ideas in artworks, including the creation of 3 dimensional artwork and developing their understanding of perspective. 

Students will discuss how artists, from a range of times in history, express ideas through artworks. 

Music – Stacie Mason 

Students will begin learning to play the ukulele, exploring strumming patterns and chord combinations. They will investigate chords that are commonly used in popular music, rehearsing and performing together as a class.    

Indonesian – Jacqui Pethybridge 

After a short break from learning Indonesian this term the students will initially focus on revising the vocabulary they covered in the past including numbers, colours, animals and transport. We plan to culminate the term with riding the school Becak which students missed out on doing last year. 

Science – Emma Jensen 

Students will learn about the properties of solids and liquids and will investigate how adding or removing heat changes materials. 

PE – Luke Freeman and Class Teachers 

We will continue to prepare for the athletics sports. The remainder of the term will give students opportunities to explore how they can transfer their fundamental movement skills (FMS) to a variety of sports, movement concepts, and activities. 

Our invasion games unit will provide excellent opportunities for this, focusing on court and field sports such as netball, basketball, soccer and AFL.
