All classes will attend the Library on Mondays. Please ensure they have a library bag to keep these books safe. 

For English this term, we will look at the reading strategy of ‘summarizing’, through our text, Finding Our Heart, written by Thomas Mayo. The students will be given the chance to write and present a book report. Through the text, The Iron Man written by Ted Hughes, the students will learn how to note take using abbreviations to assist them to plan and produce an information report. 

Home reading this term will look a little bit different for Weeks 1 – 5 as the students will be borrowing readers from the classroom and books from the library. In Weeks 6 – 10, students will be reading the class novel, Iron Man at home.  

The expectation is to continue reading at least 4 nights a week.
