Grade 5 News

It has been a busy and exciting few weeks in Grade 5, with lots happening both in and out of the classroom!

The excitement is certainly building as we count down to our Phillip Island Camp. Students have been eagerly talking about all the activities they'll experience and are looking forward to making wonderful memories with their friends. It's always a highlight of the year, and we can't wait for the adventure to begin.

Our students have also started looking ahead to Grade 6 by sharing their ideas for next year's T-shirt design and slogan. It has been fantastic to see so many creative ideas and the enthusiasm students have shown as they work together to create something that reflects their cohort.

This week, we were fortunate to participate in a Cyber Safety session. Students explored ways to stay safe online, make responsible choices when using technology and know what to do if they ever feel unsure or uncomfortable when using the internet. The session encouraged some thoughtful conversations and provided valuable reminders about being safe and respectful digital citizens.

Reading time continues to be a favourite part of our day as we make our way through The Wild Robot. Students have been captivated by Roz's journey and have enjoyed discussing the characters, themes, and important messages throughout the story. Watching the movie adaptation was another highlight, and students loved comparing it with the novel and sharing their opinions about the similarities and differences.

We're also looking forward to Book Character Day on Friday, 28 August. It's always a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our love of books, and we can't wait to see everyone's creative costumes and favourite storybook characters come to life.

Thank you, as always, for your ongoing support. We look forward to sharing more of our learning and adventures with you throughout the term!
