Concert Update - Land of Mythical Creatures

This week, we have been editing our music and starting to put some moves together. Your child/children will have now been allocated a specific role in the concert. For our whole campus act, these roles are quite unique and will require creativity with our costumes. Mrs Morgan has made a wonderful start with this; however we may need some support from home. Your child may come home and discuss with you what character they are and what their costume might need to look like. Please do not panic this week - we are sourcing what we can. Next week or two, we will send out some specifics for each student, in terms of what we will supply and what they may be able to source from home.

If you are someone who would be interested in volunteering some time to assist with costume and prop creation, please come and see Jarrod or Liz.

In terms of our specific act and performance, we are hoping to keep as much of this a secret as possible, so that at the performances, parents can see it for the first time!

A concert parent handbook is expected to be circulated next week and please have a look at the dedicated concert section of today’s newsletter for ticket sale information.

Industrial Action

We have received confirmation that the stop‑work action scheduled for Thursday, 23 July will proceed. A Compass notification outlining the impact on school operations will be sent later this afternoon. We recognise the challenges this may create for parents and carers and appreciate your patience and understanding.

Scotsburn Assembly

This Friday we will hold our first Scotsburn Assembly for the term, in the Shed at 3pm. We would love to see you all there!

Scotsburn at Buninyong for the day - next Thursday July 30

Next Thursday both classes will spend the entire day at the Buninyong campus. This is due to the Young Authors’ Program using our facilities for the day, which is a great opportunity to show off our beautiful campus. All other routines will run as normal, including specialist subjects with Mrs Morgan, out of rooms at Buninyong.

SSG Meetings:  SSG meetings that have been booked for Thursday July 30 will take place at the Buninyong campus.  Please check in at the office upon arrival.

Tree Planting Morning

This Friday, July 24, the entire Scotsburn campus will be assisting with some tree planting down at the Scotsburn Hall. We love any opportunity to help out with our local community groups and care for the environment, and with the help of Dan Frost (Harry’s dad), we will be able to plant out a boundary fenceline of the community hall property. Thanks so much Dan!

Swimming and Water Safety Program

Our 2026 swimming and water safety program commences later this term. Lessons take place at the Federation University pool by qualified instructors and run for 45 minutes over a 5-day period.

More detailed information will be sent home via Compass in the coming week for parent/carer consent, along with payment details. The cost of this year’s program is $66 per child.

In the meantime, please see the dates for Scotsburn below.

Scotsburn Intercampus Travel

At times, Scotsburn students will be transported between campuses in order to attend classes, assemblies, special days and events. On most occasions, transport required through the day will be by bus and occasionally private car for smaller groups of students. Parents may be asked to drop off or collect from the Buninyong campus if sessions are at the beginning or ending of a day.

We will always let you know of any upcoming travel arrangements via our newsletter, Compass, or via phone for smaller, more specific travel arrangements.

If you ever have any questions or concerns regarding intercampus travel, please contact your child’s teacher.
