Hey science buffs, this woman wants to grow human hearts in a lab and you can too

Melbourne University is hosting a webinar in Augstfor students interested in studying STEM. The session is designed to inspire students by showcasing real-world pathways and applications in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, and how these can lead to meaningful careers.

Join Professor Milica Radisic, a globally recognised leader in tissue engineering, as she explores how scientists are creating living human tissues from stem cells and developing “organs-on-a-chip.”

Health help for families

The RMIT University Health Clinic is currently offering low-cost psychological assessments and support for children and adolescents, with no wait time for assessments.

Families can access support for ADHD assessments, behavioural challenges, anxiety and more. Check the flyer or scan the QR code for more information.

Get free snacks at the Rezza After-School club!

Calling all Reservoir teenagers! The Rezza After-School Club has a new home at the Reservoir Library. 

The club runs in the Level 1 Youth Space every Wednesday afternoon during school term time, from 3:30pm to 5:30pm. 

Head there to find free after-school snacks and learning support or homework help from a qualified tutor. All students from Grade 6 to Year 10 are invited to join the fun.

A hub for young filmmakers 

Screen Clubs is a Melbourne-based organisation aimed at fostering grassroots filmmaking and community amongst high school students. Screen Clubs is inviting anyone aged 12-16 to join the Fairfield Screen Club - where teens get to make films and thrive creatively.

Members of the club can write, direct, perform in and crew on films/shows pitched by themselves or other members. It also runs regular workshops in writing, directing and cinematography to give teens the skills and drive to make their own projects.

Gaming developers expo in Preston this weekend

Budding game developers, here's your chance to meet real-life game designers and creators and pick their brains about what they do.

The event is set for the Preston Town Hall this Saturday (August 1) and entry is free for teens. Bring your games and speak to devs to get their feedback on your work. The event focuses on learning games so you may even discover a new game to help feed your brain.

Saints Church launches youth-hang out space

Saints Church has started a new Friday night youth group for northern suburbs teens who want to explore their faith.

Saints Youth will run in Ivanhoe on the first Friday of every month from 6:30pm-8:30pm and is free to attend. The aim is to create a place where young people can explore faith, build genuine friendships and have a fun night filled with games, snacks, hangs and chats. 

Everyone is welcome, whether they have been in church before or not.

Netball players wanted

The Parklands Netball Club is looking for new players to join their local competition. 

Girls aged under 13, under 15 and under 17 are invited to come play for the club. Training is held on Friday nights at the Darebin Community Sports Stadium in Reservoir.

The Preston Cycling Club runs free, beginner friendly training sessions every Saturday morning for teens who want to try track cycing. 

The club is based at the velodrome next to Reservoir aquatics centre. It has a number of junior members already and is looking for more new riders who are interested in being active, building confidence on a bike and making new friends.
