A huge congratulations to Year 7 student Rita Bainy who recently competed in the Australian International Taekwondo Open tournament and took home the silver medal in her age division.

Rita won two fights against very tough opponents before losing out in the last round to the Hong Kong champion.

Way to go, Rita! What an amazing effort.

Last term Preston High School participated in a range of different sports including soccer, netball, AFL, badminton, athletics, chess and cross country.

We also staged our in-school athletics carnival  a few people. It was a very intense experience for all students that competed and congrats to those who made it regionals.

In Term 2 the Year 7s participated in a Lunchtime Netball Tournament. This was a great experience as it allowed students to meet new people and spend their lunchtimes playing sport with their new cohort. Both Year 7 girls and boys had great success in school netball this term. They worked together as a team and are both going through to the next round.

The Year 8s had a great day at the Darebin International Sports Centre kicking goals and making their way through to regionals! Both the boys and the girls obliterated the other schools and charged their way through. We look forward to seeing them in action again soon!

The Year 7s had an amazing day participating and competing against other schools in badminton. Both teams had lots of wins and some losses and at the end of the day, with all the points tallied up, Preston High School came third. Throughout the whole day everyone demonstrated sportsmanship and teamwork.

Year 7-8 Girls footy spent the day working together and learning how to play together as a team. They played their best but unfortunately missed out on the finals. Despite this they all had a fun time and showed great sportsmanship towards other schools.
