Futsal Fun!

Last Friday, 17th October, Mrs Tarrant and myself had the pleasure of taking 18 of our Stage 2 students to the New England Futsal Primary Schools Cup held at the Indoor Sports Centre in Glen Innes.

Two teams tested their skills amongst some of the finest Futsal players in the New England area and they shined spectacularly. Some stand out goalie performances go to Ruby Kneipp, Jett Mitchell, Lewis Masterson and Xavier Price who stopped many goals for the opposing teams.

We had some strong attacking plays made by; Theodore Clifton, Strauss Dodds, Clayton Cooper, Ivy Watson, Caitlin Kneipp and Lucy Newberry who either scored goals or helped to get the ball down our end.

Our mid court players consisting of; Emmanuel Jinto, Christopher Hodgeman, Eva Poschelk, Isobel Brummell, Cotton Gray, Halle Carmichael, Teal Taylor and Claire Pietsch excelled in attack and defence helping both ends of the field.

Our Blue team made it to the semi finals in a tough battle against Ben Venue school. It was a nail-biter, however they lost the match. Congratulations to all our students who played at this gala day. Their sportsmanship and support for each other was commendable.

Touch Football Clinics with Mikayla Sheather

Yesterday we were extremely lucky to have Touch NSW representative, Mikayla Sheather come to our school to deliver clinics across the whole school. Our students thoroughly enjoyed their sessions with Mikayla. This is perfect timing for our students attending the ACS Touch Football Gala Day next Friday in Tamworth. Thank you Mikayla!

ACS Touch Football Gala Day - Tamworth

Next Friday 31st October, 40 of our Stage 2 and 3 students will be participating in the ACS Touch Football Gala Day in Tamworth.

While the forecast may be warm, we know their sportsmanship and competitive spirit will be even hotter! We wish all our students an enjoyable and successful day on the field. Thank you in advance to Mrs Little, Mrs Emma Newberry and Mrs Tarrant who will be accompanying our students for the day. Their dedication and generosity to be on duty from 6am to 6pm does not go unnoticed and we appreciate your assistance!

Attending students: Please check Compass for all necessary travel and event details.

Tenterfield Horse Sports

Many of our Pony Club students will be attending the Tenterfield School Horse Sports on the same day as our Touch Football gala day - Friday the 31st October. Thank you to Miss McMeniman, Mrs Fletcher, Mr Pat Newberry and Mrs Julie Donnelly for helping to make this possible for our students. We look forward to hearing all about it in the next edition of the school newsletter.

Water Awareness - Week 4

Monday 3rd to Thursday 6th November will see our annual Water Awareness sessions take place at the Glen Innes Aquatic Centre. Water Awareness is no longer part of the PD/H/PE Syllabus, however as a school, we value the need for lessons in this area. Fortunately, due to a number of highly skilled and qualified instructors in our town, we have continued to have this part of our school program. A consent form has been sent out via Compass
