Mothers’ Day Mass Ticket Deadline

Ticket sales for the Mothers’ Day Mass will close at 12:00 PM tomorrow, Thursday 23 April. No tickets will be available after this time. Please get in now if you need to!

Buy Mother’s Day Tickets here.

More tickets have been made available for grandmothers (taken from another area where tickets have not been used). There is limited capacity at the venue so you must have a ticket to attend.

Details regarding the Mass will be emailed to all who have bought tickets only.

Students not attending the Mass will have school as normal. They will be allocated a venue at the College to be supervised with work to do until Recess. (It’s a good idea for them to bring a novel to read, plus any assignments to be worked on). All classes will run as normal for the remainder of the day. All students who do attend the Mass MUST return to school for the remainder of the day. They will not be permitted to leave the Mass with their mothers.

Supporting St Gabriel’s Castle Hill – Golf Day

St Gabriel’s School, Castle Hill is one of St Patrick’s College’s Justice partners, particularly in the Junior School. They are part of our Edmund Rice community and have served families and young people with disabilities for decades. Their work is very important and we, as a community, continue to walk with them in all they do. Below is an invitation from them to build awareness and help raise funds for their work. Hopefully, some of our families/businesses can help support their great work.

SPC Night Patrol Thank You

Thank you to all members of the community who support our commitment to St Vincent de Paul (SVDP) Vinnies Vans (Night Patrol). It is particularly evident over the holidays when I see people drop off their donations, people work to prepare our food and do the service, and the parent volunteers delivering the prepared food.

This activity is a whole school commitment to those who live on the margins of our own backyard. Families supply the bread, snacks and fruit to take out, the College provides the sandwich fillings (cold meats etc), staff and Year 9 and 10 students make the sandwiches and snack packs, parent volunteers take the food from school to the Vinnies Vans base, and Year 11 students with staff, parent/carer and Old Boy volunteers operate the service three times per month.

Thank you to everyone involved in any way! It was heartening to come in on our rostered days (all falling in the holidays this month) and see everything and everybody we need and be supported by all those who made a commitment. Thank you so much!!!

On a related note – if you are on the roster for donating goods, we really need a lot more packs of sultanas (not big bags, but the packs of six snack pack sized – not the tiny ones).

Thanks so much.

Shining Our Light Service Over the Holidays

Well done to all the young men who gave of their time over the holidays to serve the community and help others. We had boys working with people with disabilities, some contributing to the Giving Hands program for the Salvos, many making sandwiches and snack packs for the homeless, some working with local bush care services and some working in their local parishes.

Its great to hear all the things our students do! Lets hope this becomes second nature and continues into life beyond school when recognition isn’t always present. Thank you for serving those in need.

Service in the Community

Late last term a group of Year 9 students along with Mrs Fisicaro, Mr Menezes, Mrs Lonard and Mr van der Meer participated in a dance with girls from Santa Sabina College one afternoon. The dance hosted adults with disabilities from CatholicCare, giving them a real-world example of this experience. It had a theme of ‘Summer Vibes’ and our boys helped bring that to life with their engagement in the activity. Well done to all involved. The more we can do to ‘create a better world for all’ the more we are succeeding in life.
