Concert - Final Reminders
Wednesday and Thursday School Drop off
Drop off at 8:45am and pick up at 3:30pm on Wednesday and Thursday at the Buninyong campus. Full School uniform. Some under garments for costumes will be fine to wear under uniform.
Thursday and Friday Evening Performances
Evening performance drop off time is 5:30pm at Federation University. Please do not drop your child off earlier and leave them as they will be unsupervised. There will be a Scotsburn representative to pass your child to at the bus loop at Chancellor Drive. We will be taking a class role for each evening performance, so students are marked present and dismissed by a teacher.
Drop off point for the evening performances is the bus stop on Chancellor Drive. *See map in parent handbook.
No school on Friday. Students can rest up and be ready to be dropped off for the evening performance.
Please ensure students have a named drink bottle with water. Also, it is a long evening, so children might like to bring a small bag with a small snack while they wait.
Collecting Students at the end of Each Evening Performance - We expect the evening concert to finish at around 8:30pm and we will be asking one parent per family to collect their children from the relevant holding rooms.
All children will need to be signed out. If you have made arrangements for your child to be picked up by another family, you will need to confirm with a Scotsburn staff member in advance.
Scotsburn holding rooms Blainey Centre – Level 1 Tutorial room 901
Parent helpers backstage, you will need to collect your backstage passes before entering holding rooms and backstage areas. These will be handed to you on the day when you arrive by a Scotsburn staff member.
Thank you so much for your offer to volunteer!
We are very excited for you to see all the hard work that has been put in by the children and look forward to a brilliant performance! Thank you again to all the families that have assisted with the concert. We truly appreciate all your assistance.
Please do come and see us in the morning on Wednesday if you have any concert related questions. We want to make sure everyone is fully informed and comfortable with all arrangements for the three days.
Scotsburn Swimming - Next week
A reminder that next week is swimming week. Our sessions will take place at Federation University from 11:45am to 12:30pm, with us departing from Scotsburn at 11:20am, and returning by 1pm. This will mean that our morning and afternoon sessions will not be affected.
Bathers, a towel and goggles will be needed every day next week, as well as a bag to put wet clothes in. If you are wanting to attend or volunteer, please contact one of the Scotsburn staff this week so that we can confirm arrangements and Working With Children Check requirements. Also, if you are planning on your child not participating in the swimming program, please let us know ASAP as they will not be able to attend each day, and we will need to make alternative arrangements.
If you have any questions about swimming, please pop in and see us.
Parent/Carer Opinion Survey
Last week on Compass, parents and carers should have received an invitation to participate in a Parent/Guardian Survey via Compass.
This survey is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour and student engagement. Our school will use the survey results to help inform and direct future school planning and improvement strategies.
All responses to the survey are anonymous. This year, the Parents and Caregiver Opinion Survey will be open from Monday August 17 to Friday September 18.
Surveys are conducted online, only take approximately 20 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at any convenient time on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones.
Please check your Compass newsfeed for log in details and how to complete. Your feedback is truly appreciated.
Father’s Day Breakfast - Thursday September 3
This year at Scotsburn we will again be holding a Fathers’ Day breakfast, celebrating all the special father figures in our lives. We would love all of our Scotsburn fathers and special friends to come along to the Scotsburn campus on Thursday 3rd September, for a big breakfast and celebration. We will have the old building ready from 8:15am for any guests, with our students doing all the hard work to show appreciation for their dads and special people in their lives!
Father’s Day Stall - Thursday September 3
Our Scotsburn Fathers’ Day stall will also be on Thursday 3rd September. Please remember to send along $5 or $10 for a gift or two for your child to purchase. All gifts will be $5.
Celebration of Learning - Wednesday September 16
In the final week of term on Wednesday, September 16th (5-7pm) we have our Celebration of Learning.
The Celebration of Learning is always a very popular event on our school’s calendar and is a wonderful opportunity for you to come along and get an insight into what your child/ren are learning at school.
All classroom spaces as well as specialist areas will be open for students to lead their families through to share their learning. We will be running a BBQ on the concrete throughout the night. We hope to see everyone there!

Scotsburn Intercampus Travel At times, Scotsburn students will be transported between campuses in order to attend classes, assemblies, special days and events. On most occasions, transport required through the day will be by bus and occasionally private car for smaller groups of students. Parents may be asked to drop off or collect from the Buninyong campus if sessions are at the beginning or ending of a day. We will always let you know of any upcoming travel arrangements via our newsletter, Compass, or via phone for smaller, more specific travel arrangements. If you ever have any questions or concerns regarding intercampus travel, please contact your child’s teacher. |
