Book Week- Thursday 21st August
Book Week is almost here!
There will be lots of fun activities for all students including the Book Week Parade on
Students and staff are encouraged to dress up using this year’s theme ‘Book an Adventure’ as a guide or as their favourite book character.
The parade will be held on the green courts beside the community hall at 9:10 am.
We are excited to invite parents & care givers to watch the parade this year from outside of the courts. In the case of inclement weather, the parade will be relocated to the community hall and unfortunately, spectators will not be able to enter the hall due to space restrictions.
Please see the below dance link for students to be able to practice at home
Thank you to our fabulous Performing Arts teacher for choreographing a Book Week dance for the whole school to perform. She has shared the link for those who would like to practice at home:
Premier’s Be Active Challenge
Preventative Health SA recommends that children participate in 60 minutes of physical activity every day (www.preventivehealth.sa.gov.au). Physical activity is an important part of a child’s development and has many social, emotional, intellectual, and health benefits.
We are encouraging all students to participate in the Premier’s Be Active Challenge over the next 4 weeks. The challenge aims to motivate students to be more active. To complete the challenge, students are required to be active for 60 minutes a day, on at least five days a week, for 4 weeks.
Students will bring home a record booklet this week. Upon completion of the challenge, the booklet must be signed by a parent and returned to the class teacher. Booklets must be returned by the end by Friday 13th of September. This gives us time to enter student data before the deadline. Students will receive their participation medals in Term 4.
