Principal Update

St Francis, Nathalia is a child safe school.

We promote the safety, wellbeing and inclusion of all children.

An update from our Principal

Dear Parents / Caregivers, Staff, Students and Friends,

We are certainly amid a very busy period at St Francis. Our students are being exposed to many exciting and varied learning opportunities and extra-curricular activities.

Thank you to everybody who joined us for the Book Week Parade on Thursday morning. The energy and effort that went into the costumes is extraordinary. The students certainly enjoyed the parade and book week activities that followed. Thank you to our parents and grandparents for your effort in making, sourcing, adjusting and re-inventing the costumes. No doubt a sigh of relief once the parade begun. The Book Week parade is the highlight activity for a week that shines a light on the importance of reading and for our students to be constantly reading, to improve this foundational skill, so essential in everyday life.

Today our senior students (year 4-6) competed in the lightening premiership carnival in Yarrawonga. The students participated in the sports of football and netball. Today’s lightening premiership is the concluding activity for our winter sports program for 2025. Thank you to the students for the way they competed with fairness and sportsmanship and thank you to our staff for the leadership and coordination of the program in both term two and today.

Next week is swimming week. All our students will participate in the intensive swimming program at Aquamoves in Shepparton. The students will be bussed to Shepparton each day to participate in 5 swimming lessons across the week. We live in an area which is surrounded by rivers, creeks, dams, channels and other waterways. Water safety and adequate swimming skills is very important. I am sure the students will enjoy the program. Thank you again to our staff for your leadership and coordination of the program next week.

Enrolments are CLOSING SOON for 2026:

A quick note to the community that we are still taking enrolments for 2026 school year. If you are looking to enrol a student in our Foundation class or another year level at St Francis, please complete the enrolment form or call into school and collect the enrolment pack from Natasha or Elisha at reception. If you have any queries or questions, please reach out and we will assist.

Finally, reminder to all parents who received the ORIMA link to please complete this survey as it provides us with excellent information on the culture at St Francis'.

With Peace and Goodwill,

Matt Carver
