Week 5 – Camps, Camps, Camps!

Week 5 was all about getting out of the classroom and into shared experiences — and what a gift it was.

Our Year 7s headed off to Forth at Fulton Park for a few days packed with energy, laughter and growth. From the epic (and highly competitive!) airport game to lawn bowls showdowns, cave exploring, a visit to Dinosaur Park, and a stack of team games — there was never a dull moment.

Evenings were a highlight. Campfire songs ranged from our all-time favourites to loud chants and worship songs sung under the open sky. There is something special about voices raised together at the end of a full day.

We were also blessed to have some of our Year 10 leaders join us for dinner at the long table. They shared devotions, encouraged conversations, and ran a fiercely contested “Minute to Win It” session. It was a beautiful picture of our 7–10 community — older students modelling leadership and younger students stepping into belonging.

Camp always teaches more than what’s on the schedule. Our Year 7s learned how to include new people, how to live closely with others (even those who don’t love sleeping!), and how to navigate small challenges with resilience and good humour.
