Our students have been busy in the garden harvesting fresh produce for our cooking classes, as well as weeding, mulching, and watering to keep everything thriving.

In this lesson, students will be making fresh pasta dough to create homemade pesto pasta, alongside a Salad of the Imagination, Zucchini Fritters, and Apple & Plum crumble.

Thank you for the overwhelming support from everyone who has reached out to volunteer in the kitchen and garden — it is truly appreciated.  Can volunteers please arrive 10 minutes prior to the lessons starting, so I can explain a few details including student allergies etc.

Please make sure you sign in at the office or SAKG café, wear a volunteer’s lanyard and have a current Working with Children Check. You also are required to complete the documentation on this link https://forms.gle/tmvTFERgp41vTugAA  or you can go to the Torquay College Website, click on information, volunteers, online induction.

If you have excess produce from your garden that you’re unable to use, we will gratefully accept donations for our kitchen, and we will happily create a recipe to showcase it.

Classes run for two hours, usually on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 11:00am–1:00pm, although times may occasionally vary.

If you require any further information, please email tresa.mintram@education.vic.gov.au  or contact the office on 5261 2360
