Last Weekend Activities

Last Friday night, the local football club hosted a night game. Several of our students were involved, either as players or as supporters cheering on their teams.

On Saturday morning, students travelled to Bunbury for a game of laser tag at Timezone, then returned in time for lunch and their afternoon sporting commitments.

Saturday evening featured a BBQ dinner followed by a movie night on site, giving students a great opportunity to relax and socialise after a busy day.

Excursion Week

This week was very quiet on site, with so many students away; the dining room seemed only about half full.

On Monday morning, the Farm Focus group of Year 11 students headed off to Muresk and Dowerin for a couple of days, while the Trades Focus students travelled to Perth to tour. From all reports, it was a great experience and enjoyable for everyone involved.

On Wednesday evening, as part of the Dorm Challenge, we held an Indoor Athletics Carnival. Unfortunately, the event was not particularly well supported; however, those who participated had plenty of fun.

Quiz Night

Last night was the annual Quiz Night. This year, students dressed in their pyjamas and made a gold coin donation to support Telethon.

We would like to thank all the staff who came along to support the students. Everyone, especially the students, greatly appreciated your willingness to give your time.

We have a few special acknowledgements. Thank you to Heidi Armstrong, who did much of the organising behind the scenes, and to John White, a former staff member, who once again put together the quiz questions.

A special thank you also goes to our guest Master of Ceremonies, Mr Tiny Holly, whose entertaining presentation and great sense of humour helped make the evening a tremendous success.

Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the night. It was an extremely close contest, with only one point separating the top teams. Congratulations to our winning table, led by Kara Goodman, one of our Administration staff members.

Next week, our College hockey team plays the grand final in the Collie competition, and our Netball girls play their grand final at the Rec Centre. Well done to everyone involved and all the very best for the game.
