Hello Friends!

Yet another term comes to an end, and it has been a busy term in the RC

Organisation

Since the beginning of the Resource Centre at Brinbeal SC, fiction has always been sorted by genre. Now, non-fiction is also sorted by genre/category. While the traditional Dewey Decimal numbers are still visible on non-fiction, ‘genre’ labels now categorise where the book can be found. 

New categories include:

Science

Technology & Innovation

Performance Art

People & Places

History

Civics & Citizenship

Healthy Mind & Healthy Body

Sport & Recreation

Cooking

Mathematics

General Knowledge

Environment & Nature and many more.

This provides a simplified ‘bookstore’ style shelving making it easier for students to find the information they need.

Premiers’ Reading Challenge

Congratulations to all students who participated in the 2026 Premiers Reading Challenge. Students read over 1000 books this year, a massive achievement. Well done again to those who completed the challenge. 

RC Housekeeping

As the year goes on, the school community seems to forget general housekeeping standards in the RC. Please remember to pack up all games and rubbish at the end of breaks, and return them to where they belong. Any games left out will be relegated to ‘Library Lockup’ for the remainder of the week.
