Division Athletics - 28 August 2026
On the 28th of August, I went to my athletics divisions. We left in the morning right after the bell and it was approx. 15–20-minute bus ride. Once we got there, I had 3 hours until my event was called on for. I took part in the 400 m relay, which was the last event of the day. I got put with the year nine girls instead of my age group for year 8, which was quite sudden news. I was nervous, but I knew I could do it, and I did. Despite the bad rainy weather, we still managed to pull through, and we all gave it our best. There were many varieties of schools from our area, and the Grange was the most competitive one. There were a lot of age groups and different events which took almost the whole day. But in the end, we all performed amazingly and it was definitely worth skipping math. I’d like to thank Ms. Telfer, Mr. Dan, and Mr. Perrot for all the support and help they provided on that day.

Friday 28th August, 13-15 yrs old students boys and girls from Brinbeal Secondary College participated in the combined Western/ division athletics at the Werribee track. Competing in various events, track, including 100 metres, 200 metres, 800 metres and 1500 metres races and field events shot put, discuss and javelin. Other types include long jump and triple jump. It was amazing to see how Aspiration and Achievement played their role in helping our students to represent our school among other schools. Our students did very well in the running events, especially in the 100 metres and 200 metres. Year 7’s showed to be adaptable when one of the relay runners was absent, and another student replaced that person, and collectively they won the relay. Many ribbons were won, during what was a nice, sunny day before ending the day with rain, but many smiles returned to school.
