Sustainability

This week has been full of excitement in Gardening Club! We were thrilled to spot some baby passionfruit growing in the garden — a wonderful reward for all the care and hard work our gardeners have been putting in.

We also enjoyed harvesting some of the herbs and vegetables that we have grown. Beetroot, lettuce, parsley, snow peas, rosemary and thyme were harvested and the students were excited to bring them home to add to their meals. It was fantastic to hear how excited everyone was to use fresh produce straight from our garden! We especially loved smelling and tasting the herbs while trying to guess which herb was which.

Our very committed Year 1s have also been busy on insect patrol, carefully investigating who the culprits are behind our devoured vegetable leaves. The Gardening club team showed great curiosity and teamwork while exploring the garden ecosystem.

The Green Team also met this term to discuss the most important sustainability goals for our school moving forward. Thank you to all of our Environment leaders for their hard work, thoughtful ideas and commitment to making a positive contribution to both our world and our school environment.
