Child Safety

Child Safe Standards at St Joseph’s
At St Joseph’s, the safety and wellbeing of every child sits at the heart of all that we do. As part of our ongoing commitment to creating a safe, inclusive and supportive environment, we will be sharing one of the Victorian Child Safe Standards with our community each newsletter edition.
The Child Safe Standards are a set of eleven requirements that guide schools in building a culture where children feel safe, respected and empowered, and where their wellbeing is actively protected through strong policies, practices and partnerships with families.
Child Safe Standard 4
This month, we focus on Child Safe Standard 4: Families and communities are informed and involved in promoting child safety and wellbeing.
This standard recognises the important role that families and the wider community play in helping schools create and maintain child safe environments. Strong partnerships between home and school support transparency, trust and shared responsibility for student wellbeing.
At St Joseph’s, we are committed to working in partnership with families to support the safety and wellbeing of all students. We communicate regularly with our community regarding child safety practices, expectations and policies, and encourage families to engage with the information shared.
We value respectful and collaborative relationships with families and recognise that open communication is essential in fostering a strong child safe culture across our school community.
By working together, we help ensure that every child feels safe, supported and known at St Joseph’s.
