The more your child attends school the greater their opportunity to learn, create social connections and improve their wellbeing.

Building positive attendance habits

You can help build positive attendance habits by:

  • helping your child learn the importance of punctuality and routine
  • making sure your child arrives on time from the start of the school day, ready to take part
  • reducing disruption to learning where you can, by planning any necessary appointments outside of school time
  • add an attendance note to Compass to explain any absences (within 7 days of the first day of any absence)
  • making sure any holidays or medical appointments are taken outside school hours
  • working with the school to encourage and support regular attendance.

Getting your school’s help and support

If you are concerned about your child's attendance at school or any other issues that may affect their attendance please speak with the school. It is important that schools and families work together to find solutions to improve attendance.

We're excited to let you know that Jared Burns will be joining the McAuley family next week!

Jared will take over the Aboriginal Education Officer role in the school. Jared brings a lot of knowledge about the First Nations culture and we are sure the students will enjoy learning from him. Jared will organise to meet the school community soon.

The New South Wales Child Safe Scheme

There are laws that say all kids and young people should be safe. So the New South Wales Government has made a Child Safe Scheme. We call it the scheme. The scheme is like a plan that must be done by law. The scheme tells child safe organisations what they must do to keep kids and young people safe.
