Parents & Friends
It's that time of year when we all start to reflect on the year that was… and what a year it has been!
The P&F have hosted many events this year with my personal highlights being the Federal Election Sausage Sizzle (cooking up a storm all day), the multiple Family & Special Friends Breakfasts (who doesn't like a cooked breakfast with friends), the Trivia Night (working our brains whilst letting our hair down), Student’s Movie Night (pizza and ice-cream for days), and to finish it off, the Family Fun Day, which brought us all together for a full-on day of sun, fun and our infamous St Mary’s community spirit.
All of these events have been made possible through the amazing St Mary’s community coming together and of course, with the ongoing support of our class reps. Whether sharing details on each of the events, dropping off tables, or getting up early to cook us all breakfast, all the events would not run so smoothly without everyone's contribution. We would like to thank everyone for their assistance and generosity.
In light of the support of all the families and friends over this past year, please come join us tomorrow for our ‘Thank-You Drinks’ evening at @ Park Bar (4/246–252 Carlisle St, Balaclava) hosted by the P&F. This is a great opportunity for us all to reflect on all we have achieved in 2025.
The P&F leadership team would like to thank Cathy, James & Erica for all their support throughout the year. Their guidance and ongoing dedication to the school is what helps make St Mary’s such an amazing school for our kids.
Holly, Mel & I would personally like to wish Cathy the greatest success in her new appointment at Sacred Heart School, Sandringham. The support that she has given us throughout the year has been incredible. Cathy will be leaving a long lasting legacy at St Mary’s and the school wouldn't be what it is today without her dedication, guidance and leadership!! We wish you all the best, and don't forget about us :)
Holly will be stepping down as P&F Secretary at the end of the year. Mel and I would like to thank Holly for her contribution to the P&F leadership team over the last 2 years. From your patience to replying to our late night messages, running around during the day to pick up supplies, to the early mornings in setting up for events and your ongoing support to the team and community. Thank you for everything and enjoy the sleep-in’s and the cooked breakfasts next year at a more respectable time.
We are trying to plan ahead and are still seeking Classroom Representatives for 2026. Our Class Reps play a vital role in strengthening communication, building community and coordinating activities throughout the year.
If you enjoy being involved in the life of our school, we’d love to hear from you. It’s a rewarding role and you’ll be well-supported by the P&F Leadership team. If you’re interested, please drop your name into the Google Form below and we’ll be in touch.
To end the year, the P&F are hosting a BBQ on the last day of Term across the road at Alma Park. Come join us from 1pm for a sausage, burger and dixie cups for the kiddos. This is an opportunity to wish everyone a safe and happy new year!
