After a busy year, full of amazing achievements as a school, we have a great deal to celebrate.
And news is spreading...

We were visited on Friday by our local State Member of Parliament (Legislative Assembly) - Mr David Hodgett, and his colleague Grant Hutchinson. Mr Hodgett was announcing the winners of his Christmas Card competition. You can check out more about this visit on the Visual Arts page of this newsletter. (spoiler alert: Congratulations Grace and Lara!!!!)

On Thursday, 11th December, we will be visited by our local State Member of Parliament (Legislative Council) - Ms Sonja Terpstra. Ms Terpstra will be joining us for a special assembly at 9.30am, respresenting the Minister of Education, to officially open our new toilets. We are looking forward to having Ms Terpstra visit our wonderful school.
Thank you to parents of 2026 Foundation students for attending our Information Evening on Tuesday. It was a great opportunity for parents to meet each other and make sure they have all the information they need to make starting school a huge success for our 2026 Foundies!
Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions.
Thank you to Miss Alysha Toner and Mrs Janine Batten for all their preparation and organisation in setting up Foundation 2026.
It is just amazing how quickly this year has flown by. We are already heading into the last three weeks of school. So many things still to do...
We do love to celebrate our achievements at Kilsyth PS, and we have quite a few events coming up:
Transition Day
Our Whole School Transition Day will be held this coming Tuesday 9th December. Students will work in their 2026 Classrooms, with their 2026 teachers and classmates between 11.30am - 2pm. We look forward to seeing students settle into their new classes - it's always a wonderful moment to appreciate how much they've grown and learned this year!
Also on this day, our Year 6 students will spend some time at their new Secondary Schools, getting ready for the big step into Year 7. Our 2026 Foundies will be joining us for a few hours as they get ready for the big step into school life.
Carols Night and Art Show
Rehearsals are well and truly underway, with the sounds of joyous song ringing out through the corridors throughout the day. A family favourite every year, our Carols Night and Art Show is being held on Wednesday 10th December. Bring along a picnic dinner, or pre-order sausages (see here for details) and bring along family and friends. We look forward to seeing you there!
Thank You Morning Tea
Thank you for your contributions to your child/ren's learning this year, and thank you for the support you have shown our school. We look forward to continuing this important work with you next year.
For now, staff would like to say THANK YOU to all of our parent and community volunteers for the work you have done to support our school this year. We invite you all to attend a morning tea on Thursday 11th December, 11am, in the Library. We will take that opportunity to say thank you in person, while you enjoy some coffee/tea/snacks/chats!
We look forward to seeing you there
Whole School Excursion Day
To end our year with a bang, every class will be heading out on an excursion on Wednesday 17th December. More details of where your child will be heading off to is available on Sentral.
Graduation Night
We will be celebrating the milestone of finishing Primary School with a Graduation Night for our Year 6 students on Thursday 18th December. Always a great night of fun, feasting and family! I can't wait.
Last day of Term
Our final day for the year will be Friday 19th December. A few big things are happening on this day:
1. Please join us for our final assembly at 9.15am. We will be celebrating our Year 6s and announcing our 2026 Student Leaders.
2. We are anticipating that we will reach our goal of 20,000 positive acknowledgements. If we reach this massive achievement, we will be celebrating with an ice-cream from Mr Whippy [One each, not just one to share ;) ] at morning recess.
3. We will hold our traditional send off for our Year 6 students on the oval at 1pm. Please join us and help us cheer them on!
4. End of the day finish will be at 1.30pm. Then its Holidays!!!!
So much to do, and just three weeks to go! And we are looking forward to every minute of it!
