Principal's News

Dear Families & Friends,
Welcome back to what I am sure will be another wonderful term at Trinity. As we have already completed almost two weeks, much has already been completed, our children are well into new units of work and learning routines are well and truly established. It is great to walk into each classroom and see our children so engaged in their learning. I am often told by visitors to our school how calm our classrooms feel which is a testament to your children and their teachers. I do remind them that there are also times when our classrooms can be noisy as children laugh and talk discussing their learning, working things out as they engage with their teachers and classmates. I am, however, always proud of what I see each day in ouir classroms and our playgrounds.
Term 2 Learning Overviews
As we begin a new term of learning classroom teachers have shared the Learning Overviews for each year level. These overviews are an excellent way of knowing what will be covered in each curriculum area including our specialist classes. I encourage you to read through these to promote conversations at home about the learning done at school.
Cross Country
On Tuesday we held both our 3-6 Cross Country and the Junior Cross Country which were both great successes. A big thankyou to all those parents who were able to help or just come to watch and support the children on the day. Whilst these Activities are great fun for all children they also offer those children who wish to take things seriously an opportunity to train in advance and really test themselves on the day. All children who finished in the top ten in our 3-6 Cross Country will now go on to represent our school at the District Cross Country later on this term. After watching some of the amazing runners even in our Junior classes I believe Trinity will be doing very well in the future.

Staff Update
As you know, we have an incredible team of Learning Support Officers at Trinity who, each day, support our classroom teachers to do the work they do. Ms Renee has been at Trinity for many years and has also worked as a classroom teacher during this time. Sadly for us Ms Renee and her partner have recently purchased a house in Geelong and so she will be moving there at the end of the term and consequently finishing up at Trinity. Ms Renee has touched the lives of many children throughout her time at Trinity and has been an extremely valued member of staff. She will be missed by all of us but we wish her well in this new chapter of her life.
Ms Maggie, who began at Trinity last year will also be finishing up at Trinity. Ms Maggie's final day will be Friday 15th May. Prior to joining our LSO team Ms Maggie had workerd as a Dental Assistant Nurse. She has recently been offered the opportunity for further study in this area whilst taking on a new role as a Dental Nurse. This is an exciting new opportunity for Ms Maggie and she is looking forward to a new challenge. We will all miss her kind and thoughtful nature and the amazing care she has shown to so many of our children.
We will farewell Ms Maggie at our Friday assembly on 15th May and Ms Renee at our final assembly for the term.
