In our Classrooms

A Great Start to Term
It has been a very positive start to the term, with students settling back into routines quickly and engaging enthusiastically in their learning.
Classes have launched into knowledge-rich inquiry units, including exploring space and Ancient Rome. Our P/1 students are also undertaking a geographical fieldwork unit, where they are creating their own ‘Taradalians’ to explore measurement, geography, and the local area.
Literacy Resources
We have been updating our school literacy resources to further strengthen our junior school reading program and support home reading.
With the support of our Parents and Friends group through fundraising, along with the help of parent volunteers, we have been able to purchase and better organise our phonics resources for classroom use. We have also added a range of new decodable texts, which will begin to come home with students as part of our reading program in the coming weeks.
Student Leadership & School Pride
Our Year 5 and 6 students have taken on whole-school responsibilities and are doing a fantastic job helping to organise and care for our school grounds. This is an important part of building pride in our school and encouraging all students to respect and look after the shared spaces and equipment.
One of our students is also leading a project to restore the sports shed into a more student-friendly space. They have written to Bunnings to seek support with materials such as shelving, hooks and paint to help get it done.
