Subject: Maths Corner:
We want your input for Semester Two!
Dear Families,
I hope you have all had a wonderful first half of the school year.
Throughout semester one, our primary focus in the mathematics section of this newsletter was providing you with engaging maths games to play at home. My goal has been to offer practical, hands-on ways to support your child’s learning in a fun, stress-free environment.
As we head into semester two, I want to ensure this space continues to be valuable, relevant, and supportive for you. To do that, I need your feedback!
What would you like to see featured in our upcoming newsletters? Here are a few ideas we are considering, but please feel free to suggest your own:
- Student Showcases: Highlighting the exciting math work, problem-solving, and inquiry-based learning happening right inside our classrooms.
- Math Strategy Spotlights: Breaking down the specific strategies and methodologies we teach, helping you understand the "why" and "how" behind modern mathematics.
- More Home Activities: Continuing with practical games, riddles, or real-world math challenges you can do as a family.
Expert Insights: Brief tips on how to foster a positive "math mindset" at home and overcome math anxiety.
How to have your say: Please take a quick moment to email me: cspence@spmentone.catholic.edu.au, chat with me if you see me around the school or drop a note into the front office letting us know what would help you most.
Our partnership is vital to your child’s success and your insights help us shape a mathematics community where every student can thrive. Thank you for your continued support and collaboration!
Warm regards,
Charlotte Spence
