Spirit of the Arts

This term, thousands of Catholic school students from across Western Australia will come together to celebrate the joy, creativity, and tradition of the arts through the Catholic Performing Arts Festival. Held throughout Term Three, this much-anticipated event will provide many Junior School boys with the opportunity to showcase their talents in music, dance and choral performance.

The festival began last week with an Opening Mass and continues throughout the term, culminating in a Finale Concert that celebrates and recognises outstanding performances. For many of our Trinity students, participation in the festival is a highlight of the school year, offering valuable opportunities to perform, build confidence, connect with peers from other schools, and share their passion for the arts. 

This term, Junior School boys will proudly represent the College in the following festival performances: 

Year 5 and 6 Chamber String Ensemble, Year 5 and 6 String Ensemble, Boys in Groove, Junior Vocal Ensemble, Year 4 Choir, Year 5 and 6 Choir and Junior Concert Band.

We wish all of our Junior School performers every success as they prepare for and participate in the festival throughout Term Three. Our sincere thanks also go to Mrs Clarke, Mrs Nicoletto, our music teachers, accompanists and support staff for their dedication, encouragement and commitment to providing these wonderful opportunities for our boys.

Year 4 Soccer Carnival

Our Year 4 students enjoyed a fantastic Soccer Carnival against Aquinas College. It was wonderful to host the carnival this year on our new Waterbank Oval, providing a fantastic setting for a day of friendly competition, teamwork, and sportsmanship. 

A special thank you to Mr Thompson, our Sports Coordinator, for his outstanding organisation and support in making the day such a success. We also extend our sincere thanks to our parents and families who assisted and cheered on the students throughout the day. Your support is greatly appreciated and helped make the carnival a memorable experience for everyone involved.

Head of Junior School Forum 

Once again, all parents are invited to attend the HOJS forum. This term’s discussion will be held on Friday, 14 August (Week Four). This will be an opportunity to discuss current initiatives in the Junior School. Additionally, it will also provide an opportunity for parents to ask questions about anything they have regarding the programs within the Junior School. This will be held at 2.30pm in the Junior School Science room.

Religious Education Assessment  

Our Year 5 boys will complete the REA next Tuesday, 4 August. The boys have participated in a practice assessment this week to familiarise themselves with the types of questions. All Year 5 students will participate in this assessment. If you have any questions regarding this assessment, please reach out to your son’s classroom teacher.

Homework Club Afternoon Tea and Cafe Reminder 

A reminder to parents that our Café now offers the option to pre-order Afternoon Tea through the Flexischools app. Afternoon Tea includes a muffin and a juice for $8.00 and will be delivered to the Junior School on the afternoon you select. Simply place your order via the Flexischools app before the relevant cut-off time to have Afternoon Tea delivered to your child.

Performing Arts Festival Reminder  

The 37th Annual Performing Arts Festival for Catholic Schools & Colleges has now begun, with many of our students proudly representing the College. The festival will run from Friday, 24 July to Friday, 5 September 2026 across a range of venues. 

Please keep an eye on your inbox for emails from Ms Lisa Krogh (Performing Arts Administration), who will provide important information regarding performance schedules, venues and arrival times. 

For all performances, students are required to wear their full winter uniform, without their jumper. Please note that, despite the uniform requirements listed on the festival schedule, the music tie is not compulsory for our Junior School students. 

If your child is timetabled to wear their sports uniform on the day of a performance, they should come to school dressed in their full formal winter uniform and bring their sports uniform to change into later in the day. This will help ensure formal uniforms are not accidentally left at home when they are needed for festival performances.
