Our school facilities - a request from School Council

Dear SKiPPS Community,

A huge thank you to all of the families who have been in touch with our local MP and the Education Minister to advocate for much-needed capital works funding for our school.

If you haven’t added yet your voice to our campaign and would like to advocate for upgrades to our toilets and an indoor space large enough for our school community, we would love your help!

Out of $320 million allocated to school upgrades in the most recent budget, SKiPPS has received $0.

Our School Council advocacy continues behind the scenes, but the more (polite, heartfelt) letters our MPs receive from our community, the better.

How can families help?

Your children will today have received a letter outlining the funding discrepancies, with a QR code that you can use to access the templates.

  • Download one of the template letters or write your own
  • Send letters to both Nina Taylor and Education Minister Ben Carroll
  • Encourage grandparents, relatives and friends to do the same

This is an election year. Opportunities like this only come around every four years, and together our community can make a real difference.

For families wanting more information, including detailed background documents, funding information and downloadable letter templates, please access the campaign folder here:

Letters can be sent to:

  • nina.taylor@parliament.vic.gov.au
  • ben.carroll@parliament.vic.gov.au

Thank you for your support as we continue advocating for the facilities our students and community deserve.
