Melbourne Writer's Festival
Our students attended Secondary Schools' Day at the Melbourne Writer's Festival, where they heard from novellists Karen Comer, Amy Doak, Tigest Gurma, Jasmin McConnahey and cartoonist for The Guardian, First Dog On The Moon.
"I loved hearing about their books, their personalities, and how they became authors because it helped me understand the vibe of their stories before reading them. The authors were funny, creative, and inspiring, which made the experience really exciting and memorable. I also enjoyed the whole day, especially the train ride and having lunch in the Melbourne Central!" - Jacob, Year 8
"Thank you for the experience of going to the State Library to listen to some inspiring authors. I have so much more confidence. I have learnt that when you have a problem, go to bed have a rest - then you will be good in the morning."
- Charlie, Year 8
