Book of the Week
Sunrise on the reaping
by Suzanne Collins
Sunrise on the reaping is the next prequel in The hunger games series, set during the events of the Second Quarter Quell, in which double the number of kids were taken as tributes.
Haymitch is a happy-go-lucky 16-year-old, with a brother, Sid, his mother, friends Burdock Everdeen, and girlfriend Lenore Dove, when he is reaped with 3 other children from District 12. While training in the Capitol he finds unlikely allies and sets his mind, not to winning and going home to his family, but ‘breaking’ the Games instead and shaking up the established order.
Sunrise on the reaping is a fantastic addition to The hunger games world, with some great new characters (and some familiar ones), and plenty of surprises in store. Return to the world of Panem once more for a tense and thrilling read!
