Principal's Report

Dear St A’s Community,

THE FEAST OF THE ASSUMPTION

Today we celebrated the Feast of the Assumption of Mary, a Holy Day of Obligation. This special feast reminds us of the Catholic belief that when Mary, the mother of Jesus, finished her life on earth, God took her—body and soul—into Heaven. This shows us how important Mary is in God’s plan for salvation and how closely she shared in her Son’s life, death, and resurrection. Mary holds a very special place in the Catholic faith. She is the Mother of God, the first and most faithful disciple of Jesus, and a model for all of us in how to love and follow Him. We often turn to Mary in prayer, asking her to pray for us and guide us closer to Jesus. A heartfelt thank you to Father Chinua for coming to St A’s to celebrate Mass with us today.

NATIONAL SCIENCE WEEK

This week we are celebrated National Science Week, a time to explore, discover, and be inspired by the wonders of science.  Students participated in a whole school incursion and witnessed many exciting experiments.  Our Prep students were treated to the amazing Dr Fiona - who used her precious time to share her knowledge, wisdom and expertise with our smallest crew, exploring the wonders of light and sound!

BOOK WEEK

Book Week is almost here—time to start planning those costumes! Our Book Week Parade will be held on Tuesday, 19th August at 9:00am in the school hall. This year’s theme is “Book an Adventure”, and we can’t wait to see the creative and imaginative outfits our students will wear. Families are warmly invited to attend and join in the celebration of reading.

The Book Fair - will be in the Dantum building from 8:30am and 3:15pm daily.  Please come along and have a look!

ASSEMBLY PICK-UPS  Reminder –

If you’re collecting your child after a Friday assembly, please head back to their classroom so they can collect their bag and, most importantly, so the classroom teacher is aware for child safety purposes. Thank you for your support and understanding.

LABELLING UNIFORM

As the cooler weather sets in, we’re noticing more jumpers and jackets being left around the school. To help us return lost items promptly, please ensure all uniform items—especially outerwear—are clearly labelled with your child’s name. A quick check can make a big difference in keeping children warm and their belongings safe.

NATIONAL CATHOLIC PRINCIPALS’ CONFERENCE

Next week, I will have the privilege of attending the National Catholic Principal’s Conference in Cairns. This important gathering brings together Catholic school leaders from across the country to share ideas, deepen our faith, and explore new ways to strengthen teaching and learning in our communities.

The Southern Region Peninsula Network has chosen to attend this valuable event, recognising the opportunity it provides for professional growth, collaboration, and inspiration. During my absence, Mrs Emma Ramasamy will be Acting Principal, supported by Mr Rubin Thomas and Ms Rebecca Bishop. I have every confidence that our school will be in excellent hands.

SCHOOL PRODUCTION

Tickets for our upcoming production are selling fast, and excitement is building! We can’t wait to welcome you to the Frankston Arts Centre to watch our talented students bring SpongeBob the Musical to life on stage. This colourful, high-energy show is packed with laughter, music, and incredible performances that will leave you smiling from start to finish. Our Parent Trivia Night is almost her! The perfect chance to enjoy a fun and lively evening at school!
