Principal Update

St Francis, Nathalia is a child safe school.

We promote the safety, wellbeing and inclusion of all children.

An update from our Principal

Dear Parents, Guardians, Staff, Students and Friends of the College,

As this term draws to a close and Easter is almost upon us it is fair to say that the education and service, we are providing our students and broader community is not diminishing. It is with pleasure that St Francis Primary School is providing a Cyber safety Information Evening for all Year 3 – 6 students and families on Wednesday April 2. The evening begins at 5pm and is being facilitated by Nathalia Police. In the digital age of today it is critically important for our students and families to be digitally literate, cybersafe and informed about the potential and harm of social media. The evening will go for an hour, and I encourage all students and families to attend. Thank you to the Nathalia Police for availing themselves and providing this wonderful opportunity.

On the last day of Term One we will be conducting a sausage sizzle for lunch to wrap up a very busy term one. The sausages will be complimentary and followed by a zooper dooper. Parents and Care givers are reminded that on the last day of term the students will be dismissed at 2.20 with the last bus departing at 2.30pm.

It is with both a tinge of sadness but also joy and enthusiasm that we farewell Mrs. Katie Barnes at the end of term. Katie begins maternity leave, and we look forward to the wonderful news in May of the upcoming birth of her first child. We thank Katie for her dedication, professionalism and care of her students. Miss Chanice Condrit will continue to teach our Grade 6 students, and we are very fortunate that our Grade 6 students have this continuity in their final year of primary school education. Good luck Mrs Barnes!

Happy Easter:

Happy Easter to you and your family as we celebrate our Father’s greatest sacrifice through his Son, Jesus Christ. May everybody in our St Francis school community enjoy a safe and peaceful Easter and Term One holiday break.  I look forward to Term Two with excitement and anticipation for what lies ahead. Please be reminded that Term Two for the students doesn’t start until Monday April 28.

With Peace and Goodwill,

Matt Carver
