R U OK Day - Thursday 10 September (Week 8)
As a school we will be having a more subtle response this year as we will be having a whole school wellbeing activity the previous week on the Friday 4th.
We still wish to acknowledge the importance of the day therefore have included it on the school calendar and will be providing some simple activities and conversation prompts for students in year 7 to year 10 to complete within their homerooms. During lunch time wellbeing team members will also be creating awareness by being a visual reminder in their yellow t-shirts promoting positive conversations.
Year 11 Wellbeing Team members will be allocated to each homeroom from year 7 to year 10 to start the conversation and promote R U OK Day. All activities come directly from the official website and are very simple. It is a matter of creating awareness and ensuring our young people know who is available for support if needed, (both at MCC and wider community), what to do if worried about a friend or family member and becoming familiar with the 4 steps (ask, listen, refer, check in). More details will be included in the next edition of the newsletter.
