National Science Week 2026

National Science Week runs from 15 August to 23 August. This year's theme is Seeds of Science: Nurturing Knowledge for All.

To celebrate, MCC will display 26 scientists around the school who have planted the seeds of our knowledge and understanding of science. The selected scientist has been chosen because students have either previously studied them or will learn more about them during their science classes at MCC.

What you need to do:

• Find all 26 scientists displayed around the school.
• Complete the Google Form with your answers (which will be sent out on Monday to students)
• Prizes will be awarded to the fastest students with the most correct answers from each year group. (and teachers/TA is they want to have a go)

Why 26 scientists? Well, we got up to 20 and were using the letters of the alphabet and it felt incomplete so we went all the way to Z, however it is fitting as we are in the year 2026 or as we write it 26.
