Update:
It’s been a little while since I’ve shared an update with our school community, and there is plenty happening across the school!
During Terms 2 and 3, LEAP Reading has been led by Mr Loader, who will share an update below about the fantastic work our LEAP students have been completing.
This term also sees the beginning of our intensive LEAP Writing classes, where students are learning all about Bartok’s Rules of Writing. I love seeing our Year 3–6 students so focused on developing their craft, experimenting with their writing and challenging themselves to become stronger writers. Keep an eye out for some of their work, which will be proudly displayed at our upcoming Writers Festival!
I’m also very pleased to share that Family Math Night is back! Join us on 31 August from 6:00–7:00pm for an evening of mathematical challenges, puzzles and fun for the whole family. There will even be opportunities to complete challenges and win prizes on the night. I’m looking forward to seeing plenty of familiar faces and families getting stuck into some productive mathematical struggle together!

The nominees included:
They explored a variety of criteria, including Design and Illustrations, before voting for their choice. And the WINNER was...
LEAP Readers were also required to submit a Creative Response based on any of the shortlisted books. Please find some examples below:
The LEAP Reading students have done an incredible job and should be so proud of their efforts. Stay tuned to find out who wins the CBCA's Picture Book of the Year!
