Thank You for Making Our 2026 VCE and Careers Expo a Huge Success!

We’re delighted to share that our 2026 Careers Expo was a resounding success - made possible by the enthusiastic support of our students, families, staff, and the broader school community.

The Highvale Careers Expo 2026 brought together over 40 representatives from a diverse range of TAFEs, universities, industry organisations, major employers, support services, Highvale alumni, and learning area leaders. Together, they showcased a broad spectrum of opportunities — from creative industries to science and beyond — ensuring there was something to inspire every student. We were particularly excited to welcome several new industry organisations this year, including CAE (Aviation), CPA Australia (Accounting), CMV (Transport), Victoria’s Big Build and VIDA (Construction & Infrastructure), Victoria Police, and Surveying Australia. Their involvement added valuable real-world insight and strengthened the connection between education and industry pathways.

The expo provided students with a meaningful opportunity to explore a wide range of career and study options, while gaining expert advice to help guide their subject selections and future planning. It was encouraging to see so many students and families actively engaging with exhibitors, asking thoughtful questions, and gathering information. The evening was filled with curiosity and energy, as students began to shape and refine their future aspirations.

A highlight of the evening was the contribution of our Highvale alumni, who generously took time out of their busy study schedules to speak with students and families. Their firsthand insights into university life and career pathways were invaluable. We thank Tahlia Allan (Bachelor of Sports and Exercise Science / Business – Sports Management), Sehaj Attly (Engineering and Science at Monash University), and Harrison Breeuwsma (Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Deakin University) for sharing their experiences.

Another popular feature was the resume writing booth, hosted by the Skills and Jobs Centre. Students had the opportunity to receive professional feedback on their resumes, and the booth was busy throughout the evening — a clear indication of students’ motivation to prepare for future employment opportunities.

Thank you to all our parents and carers for your continued support in your child’s career journey. Your involvement plays a vital role in building their confidence and helping them make informed decisions.

Finally, a heartfelt thank you to all exhibitors and staff who contributed their time, knowledge, and expertise to make the event so impactful. Your support helped create an engaging and meaningful experience for our students.

We look forward to continuing this important partnership as we support every student in building their unique post-school pathway.

We are proud to celebrate Reesa’s recent participation in the Women in Aerospace Program at RMIT University, delivered through the Sir Lawrence Wackett Defence & Aerospace Centre.

Over the four-day program, Reesa immersed herself in all aspects of aerospace and STEM, embracing the opportunity to connect with like-minded students and industry professionals. A highlight of the experience was gaining valuable industry insight through a visit to Textron Systems Australia.

Adding to this outstanding achievement, Reesa placed 3rd in the Robot Obstacle Course Challenge, earning a trophy as part of the Young Women in Aerospace and Defence Program.

Reesa is incredibly grateful for the opportunity and has approached the experience with humility and enthusiasm. Her passion for STEM continues to shine, and she is excited to remain actively involved in the aerospace and defence community.

Congratulations, Reesa, on this fantastic achievement—we look forward to seeing where your STEM journey takes you next!
