A great time was had by all at the recent women’s event hosted by the Family Educators of the Sutherland Shire. As you can see the level of talent was high! The artworks were stunning and unique.
Some comments from the guests include:
“I didn’t think I could do it - I’m so proud of myself!
“It was a fun and creative night that encouraged me to feel brave.”
“There should be more events like this.”
Here are some photos to share with you.

Family Educators in the Sutherland Shire (that’s me!) are organising an excursion to the Sistine Chapel Revelations Exhibition at St Mary’s Cathedral Forecourt for parents and carers of our school communities for Friday 26th June at 10.20am. An invitation with more information has also been sent out. Parents and carers have to book their own ticket to attend.
The Revelations Exhibition showcases life‑size, high‑resolution reproductions of Michelangelo’s frescoes from the Sistine Chapel. Visitors can stand face‑to‑face with iconic scenes such as The Creation of Adam and The Last Judgment, gaining a rare opportunity to appreciate the detail, colour, and symbolism of these works in a way not possible inside the actual chapel. The exhibition also includes guided audio, historical insights, and reflections on Michelangelo’s artistic and spiritual vision.
Booking: You must purchase your own tickets as a matter of urgency as spaces are limited and we are unable to make a group booking.

Once you have purchased your ticket, please complete the Google Form Link so Family Educators know where you would prefer to meet - either at a local train station or on the cathedral steps.

Celebrating Mary in the Month of May

Dear Parents/Carers of Kindergarten - Year 3 children
You are kindly invited to come to a SPaR in the Church to pray to Mary with your child.
Traditionally the month of May is dedicated to praying to Mary, Our Holy Mother. The Church has designated a special area in the foyer in which to pray to Mary.
Parents/carers and children are encouraged to bring a flower or piece of greenery to place in front of her statue.
The prayer session conducted by myself and the class teacher will take approximately 20 minutes. Check Compass/child’s school bag for an invitation.
Parents/carers please meet us at the Church.

All parents and carers will receive a special Mary Prayer Pack!
Here are some photos of parents/carers attending the SPaRs that have already been celebrated.

It was wonderful to see so many families support our Year 6 families as they committed to the Confirmation program last Saturday. We also celebrated the birthday of the Church with Pentecost - when the Holy Spirit came down upon the apostles and Mary and her girlfriends. We now enter the Church season of Ordinary time with the colour green decorating our prayer spaces.
The students signed up for the Pope Francis Award Program have been visiting OLF Preschool and Long Daycare assisting with light cleaning, tidying and organising activities for the children.
Students have enjoyed the experience of giving service to others.
Here is a photo of one group helping out.

Two weeks ago we celebrated the season of Easter with painting eggs - symbols of new life. Last week we had sporty fun with some Year 6 students on Fatima Forum.
This week on Friday at 9.10am we will have musical fun!
All pre-schoolers, babies and toddlers are welcome to come with parents and carers.

I invite families to continue praying to Mary the Mother of Jesus during the month of May.
May Mary bless you and your family and keep you safe.
