Child Safe Standards

Child Safety
The Child Safe Standards are a set of 11 requirements that organisations must follow to create a culture and environment that is safe for children. These standards aim to prevent, respond to, and report child abuse by requiring organisations to implement policies, procedures, and practices that put children’s safety and wellbeing first. They were developed in response to inquiries and recommendations from Royal Commissions and aim to drive cultural change within organisations that provide services or facilities for children.
11 months 11 standards...
As a school we highlight one Child Safe Standard each month. This intentional focus on one standard will help our school maintain it’s compliance requirements and continue to build our child safety culture. At OLA all staff are also required to review these 11 Child Safe Standards over the course of the school year:
Child Safe Standard 1 - Highlighted in February
Child Safe Standard 2 - Highlighted in March
Child Safe Standard 3 - Highlighted in April
Child Safe Standard 4 - Highlighted in May
