Basketball Zone Champs:

At the end of last term, we entered two teams in the West Zone Basketball Champs at Trusts Arena.

Both teams played with passion, perseverance and precision (aka skill, but skill doesn't start with a 'p'.)

Our A team came up against their nemesis St Paul's in the semi-final. St Paul's have an awesome basketball programme and are an outstanding team. We were up 8 to 2 at the break and had them majorly stressed. The break let them reorganise, and in the end we suffered a narrow loss. I was incredibly proud of all our players; they gave their all.

Our B Team claimed third place over Summerland - always a pleasing result to beat our neighbours. Again, our players gave their all and deserved their excellent result.

Both our teams played exceptionally well as a team. I would sum it up as they were star teams up against star players.

Big congratulations to our coaches Tim Taura (Mr T) and Abdel Ramadan. Big thanks to all our parent supporters, and big ups to all our players; you did Western Heights, your coaches, and yourselves proud.
