Journeying Together in Christ
As an educator I always value these holidays in the middle of winter. There is sickness each year and a break is required. I like a holiday like anyone else. Not a lot on the agenda for the Keenans other than some family time, some jobs around the house, a few rounds of golf, maybe a day trip somewhere, walking our dog and enjoying the firepit. After spending my first 40 years in NSW, the Rugby League State of Origin will be a watch next week, along with the test cricket in the West Indies, the AFL, some Wimbledon Tennis and the British Open Golf. I don't mind some sport! For all those travelling, I wish you a safe trip and a wonderful time.
Bishop Shane McKinlay will become the Archbishop of Brisbane. Bishop Shane will be installed as the Archbishop on Thursday 11 September. We are grateful for the time he spent leading our diocese and pray for his mission as Archbishop.

Our Year 3/4s welcomed Councillor (Mayor) Shane Sali on Thursday afternoon. He gave a great summary of the local government's role in Shepparton. He answered questions at a student level, which I found very impressive. We thank him for visiting us.
We wish Lexi Miles all the best with her upcoming birth. Staff wished Lexi and Lawton all the best at a morning tea on Thursday.
We wish Troy Watts all the best at St Mary's Mooroopna. He started at St Luke's at the start of 2019. We thank him for his service at St Luke's. This was the start of PE as a specialist class at St Luke's. Troy's last day is Friday 4th July, and he will start on 21st July at St Mary's.
Michael Thomas will start with us on the 21st of July, and his first P.E. lessons will be on Wednesday 23rd. He has been at Notre Dame College teaching PE and other Curriculum areas. Ms Donna Allen will start in Foundation next term Monday-Wednesday and Mrs Meg O'Sullivan Thursday and Friday. Natalie Bibby will replace Meg in Foundation Pigdon on Fridays.
ENROLMENTS 2026
If existing families have someone starting school in 2026, please ask the office staff for an application pack. We would like to finalise numbers so we can start planning for 2026.
Classroom Mastery
Calm and predictable spaces! That was our goal, and I am proud that we are growing towards an excellent level of achievement. The real feedback for me is when I take visiting families on a tour of our school and they are so impressed and comment on: how well the students walk into the classroom, great listening skills, movement around the school, the learning culture, handwriting, paying attention to the teacher, saying hello to me and visitors as we walk past, manners, quality of writing... The list goes on, but this is what I want to hear.
School Grounds Update
At this time of the year, nature slows down due to the cold weather. During this time Bruce (grounds person) has been pruning and tidying up. Things look great. During the holidays we are servicing our basin pump out the back of the stadium. Last term we 'flushed' all the storm water pipes leading from the carpark and into the basin and drainage channel. The second stage will involve cleaning the drain along the new footpath leading into the small basin. We will add rock and keep this area clean.
New Flag poles will hopefully be installed in Term 3. We are relocating the two near the administration building and adding two more. The new area is outside the auditorium. These will be more accessible for the students and for different ceremonies.
Uniting Care (Before & After School Care)
They are operating a holiday program for the first time. If you see people in our school grounds Monday-Friday it may be these students and Uniting Care Staff.
